This restaurant has an excellent menu with consistently high-quality dishes. The staff are always friendly and welcoming. The wait times are reliable. I have been a customer for many years and will continue to dine here. Although the carpark is small, there is ample street parking available on the main road just a few steps away. View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about The River:
I paid $38.50 for chicken fried rice, beef fried rice, curry chicken, cheese rolls, and a portion of chips. The beef was not cooked properly, with nerves still going through it. The chicken fried rice only came with 6 small strips of chicken. I would not recommend this restaurant. Delivery service was used for this meal. View all feedback.
I always come to this restaurant for takeout because it is excellent. If you call ahead, they always have the food ready, or if you order inside, the wait is not long. The menu is a standard Chinese takeout menu, but the food tastes great.
I have been getting takeout from this restaurant for a while now and the portions are great. The food tastes just as good as I have had anywhere else. I highly recommend this place and plan on dining in soon, but definitely give it a try.
I highly recommend The River as the best option for both takeaway and sit-down meals in the Newcastle West area. The staff is very friendly and welcoming.
You could spend a long time here picking out what you would like to eat as they have a very good menu. when you get it , it is hot, tasty and you get a very good portion .
Ate here last week it had been a while since last being there nothing has changed food is ok and average nothing fancy and rice is a little stodgy unite a big area and with small crowds can be cold and a little in welcoming take away seemed busy
