What Julia Granados doesn't like about Bygones:
Visited for snack/lunch, wasn't brilliant but ok but it was the waitress who let it down most,Scottish girl who just seemed miserable and no interaction whatsoever, never even said thanks or goodbye when leaving if you don't want to work look for another job. View all feedback.
What a hidden little jewel this place is, beautiful afternoon tea in a room full of amazing remembrance, we ordered the 1970s and half kron luxury tea and we were not disappointed, everything was beautifully presented and takeaway boxes were for what she could...not finish. we would highly recommend the coworkers are excellent and work really hard to ensure that all their needs will come back to any case, thanks bygones.

We ordered 20 takeaway teas to the 90th birthday of my mother and arranged them to collect on Saturday afternoon. as promised they were all ready in beautifully packed single boxes including a special birthday message on the side of the box. included in the order. were vegetarian and gluten-free options that were clearly specified. when they were opened the afternoon, we were thrilled by the amount and quality of the content: we had the 1940s three-penny bite and it was delicious. Thank you for helping to make our celebration so special.
This is a themed tearoom restaurant, that you can book different style eras of afternoon teas. It also operates as a separate restaurant tearoom. The restaurant cafe is a little bit more expensive because of the decor/table service. We had jacket potatoes, with onions.. cheese. As well as Hereford beef ultimate Steak sandwich. Both lunches were served with Italian styled salad, with cherry tomatoes and balsamic dressing. The baked potato was large, with red onions on the side with the cheese. A soft white toasted baguette, goes well with the beef; which is mixed in a sweet sauce and next to a side mug of chips. The teas were served in China pots and cups, loose leaf with a strainer. Its Earl Grey variety, was so smooth and refreshing; we ordered it again.
So I find myself back in this charming Staffordshire town having missed breakfast, deliberately as I know there’s a fabulous treat in store. Bygones Cafe a feast for the eyes, back in time vibes, taking me back to my childhood of the 1960’s. The cafe...is packed with memorabilia that for some of us will evoke memories of a bygone era. I find my eyes darting from the traditional menu to the wonderful decor. Time for what I came in for, the food… I chose the Staffordshire Delicacy, traditional oatcakes and why not? A vegetarian option for me, cheese, beans and mushrooms. Verdict, totally scrumptious, fresh and served with a smile from the lovely staff. Of course I’ll be back, hopefully very soon.
