The main courses took just as long to arrive. Two of the medium steaks looked like they had been poorly prepared. I'm not sure if the staff noticed our disappointment or overheard our comments, but they did bring us two additional steaks cooked to medium. To their credit, our waiter was very apologetic about the whole situation, and they did not charge us for the two late starters.

What User doesn't like about The Star Inn:
We had to wait a long time to be served, both for drinks and to place our orders. The food itself was quite disappointing; I ordered the fish and chips, which lacked flavor. My friend and I shared a baked camembert as an appetizer, but there wasn't enough bread to accompany the cheese, leaving us with half of it uneaten. On the other hand, my friend enjoyed the lamb, which he found satisfactory. View all feedback.

Very nice, very relaxed atmosphere, would visit again safely

To their credit, our waiter was very apologetic about the whole situation, and they did not charge us for the two late starters. We ended up having three bottles of wine that evening, primarily due to the extended waiting times between courses, and the management graciously did not charge us for one of them. Overall, it was a disappointing evening at the pub; however, we would still consider returning, as it is a convenient halfway point between us and our friends, and we have never had a truly bad meal there.
We have visited this pub many times without any issues, but this time everything seemed to go wrong. It took a long time for our orders to be taken. There were seven of us at the table, but when the starters arrived, we were two short and had to follow up with the staff. By the time they finally arrived, the others had mostly finished theirs. The main courses also took a long time to come out. Two of the medium steaks looked overcooked! I’m not sure if the staff heard our comments or if they were already aware, but they brought us two more medium steaks. To their credit, our waiter was very apologetic about the situation, and the management didn’t charge us for the missing starters. We ended up having three bottles of wine throughout the evening, mainly due to the lengthy waits between courses, and the management even waived the charge for one of them. Overall, it was a disappointing evening at The Star, but we would still consider returning since it’s a convenient halfway point for us and our friends, and we’ve never had a bad meal there before. Let’s hope it was just a one-off incident.
