We enjoyed a fantastic meal at Time And Tide. Every aspect, from the exquisite food to the elegant decor and attentive service, made for a truly inspiring experience.

We left Time And Tide feeling quite disappointed, especially as big Top Chef fans who were expecting something special. Unfortunately, the food didn’t live up to our hopes. Overall, it felt like the restaurant was trying too hard but missed the mark on flavor. We ordered the nori fries, tuna tostada, pea salad, black crispy rice, prawns, skate, and steelhead trout ceviche, plus the complimentary goldfish cracker. The prawns and pea salad were the highlights, though the prawns were slightly overcooked and the pea salad was served with large, greasy croutons that detracted from the dish. The tuna tostada was one-dimensional and lacked acidity, only improving somewhat after we added lime. Both the nori fries and crispy black rice were salty; the black rice especially was more chewy than crispy, almost like old, dried-out rice, which wasn’t enjoyable. The goldfish cracker was overly crumbly and buttery for our taste, so we didn’t finish it. The skate was unfortunately inedible due to excessive saltiness, and we had to send it back. The restaurant kindly removed it from our bill and allowed us to order something else, so we chose the steelhead trout ceviche instead—another disappointment. The flavors were oddly combined with a bitter note that was unpleasant; it would have been better served simply as sashimi. Service was lackluster as well. When we first mentioned the saltiness before the skate arrived, the waiter simply responded, “Oh, I’m sorry you feel that way,” which felt unprofessional and poorly handled. The only positive was that the meal wasn’t overly expensive, costing less than $100 per person. Food: 1 Service: 2 Atmosphere: 4 Price per person: $50–100
