Visiting New York City from a small town, my expectations were modest, but dinner at Kitchen 46 was a major letdown. It was raining, and when we walked in, the place was nearly empty—a warning sign we ignored because of the weather. I ordered from the prix fixe menu: Greek salad, salmon tagliatelle, and cheesecake. The tomatoes in the salad were lackluster, with the small piece of feta being the only edible part. The salmon lacked any seasoning, and the pasta was undercooked and bland, seemingly not even boiled properly. It was served in a pool of watery lemon sauce that was supposedly dill sauce. Honestly, I could have prepared a better meal at home, and I’m no chef. The cheesecake had an odd texture and was disappointing. I’m surprised this restaurant is rated four stars. If you’re thinking about dining at Kitchen 46, I’d advise you to reconsider. Food: 1 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 2 Price per person: $50–100

The food at Kitchen 46 was quite good. The atmosphere is pleasant, though the space is definitely tight since it's a small venue, but they’ve made the most of it. I found the mezze appetizer a bit lacking in flavor, but the main courses more than made up for it. The cocktails were also solid. The menú offers a nice variety, and I would definitely visit again.
