Phenomenal modern Chinese food!! The ambiance is great, service is great, however the food is exceptional. Half Peking duck was enough to share amongst 4 of us, the crispy prawns, fried rice, noodles and Wagyu beef dim sum were absolutely delicious. The sesame flavored old fashioned was very nice. You can’t go wrong with anything you order here ….as long as you’re good with the price tag. I absolutely enjoyed this pl... View all feedback.
What Xavier A doesn't like about Hutong New York:
Cool ambiance but way over priced for the quality of food. It was fun but $300 for a duck, a couple drinks and an appetizer is a bit much. Pretty good food, just not worth the money. You can get far superior food in Chinatown for 1/3 of the price. No fancy ambience, but the quality is superior in China Town. View all feedback.
The food is always great, and service most of the time is very good. This time though our server told us we would have to leave as there would be someone for our table. We were with older friends this is view as rude, especially since there were many open tables at that time even when we left. So, this manner of controlling flow is un acceptable. We go here fairly regularly, and this is the first time we have ever been treated like this.
Restaurant is beautiful, food is ok but they service horrible. It seems like our party was not wanted there. Staff was rude and dismissive. Is a place I would not return to.
Always good food and service! Our waiter was beyond amazing They could improve their desserts
The location is fantastic, right across the street from Bloomberg in upper Midtown East. The place has good dining utensils, great ambience, comfortable lounge seatings as well as restaurant seatings. The food is mediocre as of the price. The half peking duck we ordered was served half-cold. The serving plate was exceptionally cold. The peking duck has crispy skin which is awesome but slightly too oily. The pancake served was exceptionally cold as well, which was a major problem for peking duck rolls. Only the rice was served warm, the other warm dishes were all pretty cold when they are served which leads to less optimal tastes. May check back for a casual business occasion, but not with friends again.
They simply do not understand a thing about service here. DO NOT CELEBRATE A SPECIAL EVENT HERE.
