Overall, the reviews are mixed, with some highlighting the excellent service and food, while others were disappointed with the portion sizes and rushed service. Reservations are recommended for this popular spot.
I went to this restaurant for my 18th birthday! The tea and pastries were delicious and the staff was kind and attentive. There was a lot of food, I couldn't finish it all. It's a nice place to relax with loved ones (I probably spent a good 2 hours here).
This restaurant is fantastic! I have never had such a enjoyable experience with afternoon tea dining. The waitress speaks multiple languages and the dishes are amazing. We chose the imperial set, which includes caviar. It was fabulous, but tables are limited so make sure to make a reservation in advance.
I recently had afternoon tea at this tea room located in the Lowell hotel. The service was excellent and attentive, and the atmosphere was elegant. The sandwiches and pastries were delicious, with the lobster roll and egg sandwich standing out as particularly tasty. The pastries were not overly sweet. I especially enjoyed the scones and jam. This is definitely one of the best places to enjoy an afternoon tea set.
Great time having high tea at the pembrook room at the Lowell hotel. Tea was great, even when I picked one and didn't like it, they changed it out for a second one. The small treats were delicious. The scones were warm but not dry like traditional scones. They were also not as tasty, more butter needed in the recipe. Clotted cream and lemon curd rocked. Service was great. Small space so reservations are a must. Outside space would be nice during the appropriate months.
Two of my friends and I went to the Pembroke room for tea on Saturday. We had an excellent experience. The setting is intimate and fancy. It is pretty quiet, so not the place for a rousing group. The staff were polite and welcoming, explaining the menu and our choices, answering questions. Tea was served quickly, and food was served before we knew it. The sandwich and pastries were delicious. Macaroons were a highlight for me. Wow. We especially liked the blintz with caviar and the smoked salmon sandwich. Scones were perfectly done, served with a sweet cream, lemon curd, marmalade and jam. We were able to stay at our leisure. The staff were not pushy as opposed to those at the Palm Court. A much better experience at the Pembroke for my taste. I would definitely return here for high tea.
