Impeccable service, but the food was on the salty side, especially for French cuisine. The complimentary cookies I received before leaving were also too sweet. It's a so-so experience for the price you pay. View all feedback.
What Anastasia C doesn't like about Per Se:
It was disappointing to see all the sub charges for supplements that they suggested. We have been to many Michelin restaurants and never have been charged for sub ingredients. Nobody mentioned that either, and when we expressed a surprise, it did not seem that anybody cared about us. Most dishes were good, but not amazing. The best thing I tried was the caviar with strawberry sauce (turned out to be a supplement too)... View all feedback.
Amazing team both front and back of house. Look forward to returning soon! ?
Big shoutout to chef de cuisine, Chad Palagi, and team! Per Se tonight was everything Chef Keller would want. Impeccable service, wonderful presentations, and most importantly, exceptional food! Also an amazing wine paring, and the desert course was the finest I have had. Keller and today’s Per Se has soundly rebutted Pete Wells’ 2016 NYT review. Our dinner tonight at Per Se is at the top of my list, vying with L’Epicure in Paris for number one.
There are few tables next to the window that are the best tables with views of midtown. that is a beautiful place so I would wear a jacket unless they want to stand off badly. the service is quite formal and professional. eating is what they would expect in a 3-Michelin Star tasting menu. it has not really knocked off my socks, but I think because the ingredients are more difficult to come after a pandemic. supply chain probleme, but this is my theory, since most restaurants I used to like are not so good right now. the responsible guy is very on the earth that is a tempo change from the other formal servers. I'm not sure I'm coming back because it's too formal here and I like to dress up with kapuze, hat and jordans.
I have done something 3* meelin restaurants, that was the poorest experience: 30min before we drink cold atmosphere no music, no amuses book, no brot or other. 8 courses, too small portions without taste / taste risk. the 3 first courses were very buttery/fat. could produce that at home. no declaration about wine and food. service was average, but very far from a 3-star experience. not worth $1000 for 2!
What a setting to enjoy post-Covid lockdown! Classy decor, very professional and at the same time friendly service (funny sommelier unforgettable food services with researched ingredients, selection of wines to die for. Thanks to all the team for such wonderful evening!
