What Neha I doesn't like about Mah-ze-dahr:
Honestly wasn't too impressed here. Their cheesecake was pretty average, I think there's better in nyc. The only different aspect about it was the crust, I would say it was above average, but filling was normal. I also got their mah ze dar bar it was okay. Overall thought this place was a little overhyped. View all feedback.
I've tried the savory scones, honey cake, olive oil tea cake, chocolate explosion cookie, choux vanilla pastries, jelly filled doughnuts, and the brioche doughnuts, chocolate matzah crunch and all are high quality, rich, and with flavors from the natural, fresh ingredients. The famous heavenly cheesecake is lighter than your traditional thick cheesecake with a more complex flavor. The Devil in Ganache chocolate cake is unusually rich and moist in dark chocolate. The staff is always very friendly and helpful.

In an effort to find the best croissants in the city, I've been trying out different bakeries every week and this week, I finally got to check out Mah-Ze-Dahr, a woman owned bakery in Greenwich. We came to the bakery around 1pm and there was a short and efficient line to order. There was a wide variety of sweet and savory pastries and we ended up getting a plain croissant (toasted), a savory mushroom croissant (toasted), and an iced oat milk latte to share. The croissants were perfectly layered, buttery, and flaky and paired beautifully with the nutty coffee. All in all, I thoroughly enjoyed the delicious croissants (some of the best I've had in the city) and I can't wait to come back and try out their seemingly decadent chocolate cake and other baked goods!
Honestly, it's a solid hot chocolate! (She said, knowing she came to a famed bakery only to ignore all their pastries...)The west village location is a bit tight but, it does not stop them for packing the bakery full of treats. Savories, croissants, cakes, there's something for everyone.I ended up going for something light and chose the large hot chocolate with a marshmallow. Service was super friendly and quick. And I was pleasantly surprised by how rich the chocolate was. Not thick, mind you, but deep chocolate flavor throughout. The marshmallow was nicely charred and sweet.(But please do not pluck it out of the cup with your bare fingers like I did. Vive la mess)Overall, I think it's worth a stop at least for a hot cocoa if you're nearby!
