This hibachi restaurant has received mixed reviews, with some customers praising the food quality and atmosphere, while others were disappointed with noise levels and service. The hibachi experience was fun and tasty, with good portion sizes, but some found the food to be somewhat salty. Despite some shortcomings, the restaurant seems to be a popular choice for families and special occasions, offering a range of options beyond hibachi. Overall, it appears to be a decent choice, especially if you're in the area and looking for a fun dining experience with friends or family.

This restaurant is fairly new in the neighborhood and I'd been meaning to try it. What a surprise! It's quite lovely inside (we ate in the dining room part in back, which is very quiet and great for conversation) the food was delicious, and the service outstanding. I hope it lasts. They don't seem to have a lot of people coming in not sure why. But it's well worth a visit, and a great addition to the neighborhood. View all feedback.
What Ekin Alp dislikes about Flame - Main Dining Room:
The restaurant has a very loud atmosphere. The food was average and lacked strong flavors. Portions were small. This place seems to focus more on entertainment and ambiance than on food quality. Overall, I wouldn’t recommend it for a meal. View all feedback.
Very good sushi spot! We went there during a visit to NYC and we love Sushi and had high hopes and all our expectations were met! If anyone is looking for great sushi this is it. The prices were good too.Food: 5/5
Average service/management and food. Easy dining for large family/groups/kids. You can make a mess and it’s fine. Servers don’t mind nor do they clean up between entrees. Fine to dine if you don’t have high expectations and want little hibachi flame entertainment. I made a birthday dinner reservation for 16 people and brought our own birthday cake. Was assured at reservation over the phone servers can slice and serve the cake. When I watched the server poorly cut/butcher, using a “spoon” and knife, to serve the first three shabby broken down slices from a beautiful Magnolia Bakery cake I had to step in and explain how to slice and serve more “thoughtfully” to the birthday girl and guests. I asked if they had a cake server and they said they did not have one. The two servers walked away after I showed them how to cut/serve and after they brought regular metal spoons which I had also asked to replace the flimsy small white plastic teaspoons for desert. Note: they also forgot and did not serve ice cream which was supposed to be part of the meal. When I mentioned how awfully the cake was being served and how servers all walked away and didn’t assist, the manager lady/hostess was defensive, unapologetic and rude. Instead her response was, we are not responsible for slicing cakes.” I asked if that is the case why did you tell me over the phone you did? She’ just said it’s “something we offer.” — very bad customer service! Training and management at this restaurant has low/average standards. On top of disappointing birthday dining experience, they also automatically charged 20% gratuity.
Nice place and the atmosphere is perfect for a romantic date night. Good service too.Food: 5/5
Did a quick Sunday lunch here after Central Park bike ride. In one word, FRESH. The Dan-dan duck ramen bowl bordering on excellent, and Sashimi Trio absolutely fresh and fantastic. Same for the sashimi ceviche! Highly recommended.
I really love hibachi, but this is one of the worst I have eaten! the chicken and shrimp had no taste, the vegetables were overcooked and the table was dirty. The cook turned around all the time and even forgot about my shrimp, so he cooked them on adirty table, and gave them raw, because he was in a hurry to finish. Also very small portions. I do not recommend!!
