I was only in New Westminster for one night, but I ended up eating at this restaurant twice because I loved it so much. I appreciated that they had a variety of delicious options for vegans, as well as a diverse cafe-style menu. They also had a wide selection of high-quality chocolate, coffee, and tea available for purchase. The staff was also fantastic. View all feedback.
What Cheryl A doesn't like about Craft Cafe:
I ordered a maple latte and my friend had a caramel latte, and we both enjoyed them. The inside of the restaurant was a bit small and crowded, but they had cute items for sale. View all feedback.
Stayed in New West for only one night but went there twice. Loved that they had more than one treat for vegans and had a few cafe type meal options. Great selection of fancy chocolates, coffee and teas for purchase. Staff were great too.
It's great to see a small restaurant offering vegan food and drinks!
Update: Since my initial review, they now provide to-go containers with separate trays, eliminating the problem of soggy sandwiches. I usually don't order coffee, but on the rare occasions that I do, I simply ask for drip coffee. It is disappointing that they charge extra for non-dairy milk, so I usually opt to skip it. One time, when I requested coffee later in the afternoon, they were out of drip coffee and offered to make me an Americano instead. While I appreciated the alternative offer, I found it odd that a cafe would run out of drip coffee. I've never worked in a cafe before, so perhaps there is a reason behind it.
The tuna salad sandwich with chickpeas at this restaurant is delicious! However, when I got my sandwich to go, they put the salad in the same container, causing the bread to become soggy from the balsamic vinegar. I asked for chips on the side, which solved the problem. Since writing my initial review, they now provide to-go containers with separate compartments, so no more soggy sandwiches!
