Contribute FeedbackThe Governor, located in the heart of New Orleans, presents a diverse dining experience. While some patrons rave about the delightful atmosphere, friendly staff, and standout dishes like the seafood omelet and deep-fried alligator, others express disappointment with underwhelming food quality and slow service. Numerous reviews highlight issues such as overcooked seafood and lengthy waits for orders, leaving guests feeling dissatisfied. Nevertheless, many appreciate the inviting ambiance, reasonable bottomless mimosas, and overall enjoyable dining experiences. Overall, The Governor’s reputation remains a blend of culinary highs and lows, making it a topic of varied opinions among visitors.
We had a reservation for four people, but when we arrived and ordered drinks, it took 20 minutes for them to arrive. The appetizers came out in a timely manner, but they were just okay. Unfortunately, our waiter was not attentive and did not clear our table properly. After waiting over an hour for our entrees and having to go to the bar to order another round of drinks, we decided to cancel our order and leave. The restaurant was not busy, which made the experience even more disappointing. Overall, it was a very unpleasant experience, and to make matters worse, no apology was given.
Avoid this restaurant at all costs! My daughter was eager to try the Boudin, so we decided to give it a shot. Unfortunately, the fried shrimp and oysters were overcooked to the point of being nearly inedible. The service was alright, but the quality of the food was abysmal. I would not even give it a single star, and it seems like they might be on the brink of going out of business.
Customer service was horrible, wasn’t pleased with the wait or non consistency.
This place was delicious from the drinks to the appetizers on down to dessert! We had deviled eggs, Brussel sprouts, bacon horseradish oysters, fish fingers, fried artichokes, red beans and rice with fried chicken and sausage, brownie, and sweet potato pie! Not one single thing sucked! Drinks were also great and the service was great to boot. Will definitely be back.
Red beans and rice with fried chicken strips? Yes and yum!!! Locals and will be back for sure.
