This is a firm family owned local Chinese spot with fresh ingredients, always crispy vegetables. they understand vegan and have several dishes that are tasty and vegan friendly, including veggie dumplings, sesame noodles, and various tofu and bud pie offers with sweet my favorite is pancake with black mushrooms, tasty, not fried. they also offer brown rice updated by previous review on 2021 07 15
Our mixed vegan/non vegan family members ate here last week. everything was made fresh to order and the staff stopped.
I had the brokkoli and garlic sauce. nice taste and not too fat. the menu has a vegetable section, but nothing is specially marked vegan or vegetarian, fyi.
My man and I had tried a few years ago house of chao and were underwhelmed. When I saw that they were now listed on happycow, we thought maybe something had changed and we tried again. we were underwhelmed again. the number of page and tofu dresses mentioned in the description does not seem to exist on the menu (unless there is a separate veggie menu that they 're keeping very hush-hush) and although the restaurant looks very nice, it is in first line a meeting point, which means service is very slow. not really something special.
My partner I used to come here to eat because the way they pan fry chicken is THE BEST we have ever had. I am not sure if the old man still works there, but as a chef of 25+yrs myself, I was so impressed that I walked straight back into the kitchen handed the old man a cash tip thanked him. We used to order the general tso chicken combination. The rice was good, a little Plain but good, the egg rolls were also good.... But that CHICKEN, WOW.
