The Forest Inn At Ashurst - New Forest

Warm welcome, laid back, excellent fish and chips. Bangers and Mash were enjoyed by our friends, Excellent service, very professional!

I came across this restaurant while driving and decided to stop in for lunch. We were warmly greeted by the woman at the bar. We ordered a chicken ciabatta sandwich with salad, hunters chicken, and onion rings. The food was freshly prepared, the portions were generous, and the hunters chicken was the best I've ever had. It was so delicious that I will definitely be returning for more. The price was also very reasonable for the quality and portion sizes.

We arrived in our motorhome, parked at the far end of the car park and I ventured in. I have to say the welcome I received was probably the warmest I have ever experienced. The atmosphere was relaxed and full of banter from locals and visitors alike. At the forefront of it was the lovely Frances and James, who were equal in their spirit, character and humour and I thoroughly enjoyed their company and inquisitiveness. They were, of course, attentive to other customers at this time too. For me, two pints of TimothyTaylor and a portion of cheesy chips are perfect. I cannot comment on other food choices, however, what I had was ideal. Live music was advertised for various Saturdays, so I can assume there will be a fair amount of noise, but for a Friday night in the car park, we slept soundly with very little traffic disturbances. All in all, a great experience and we hope to return again soon. Thanks again to Frances and James.

During our family holiday, we decided to stop by this restaurant. We were warmly greeted by the new owner/manager Maria, who had recently taken over and had just opened the kitchen a few days before. The food was delicious and reasonably priced, with a homely and fresh taste. We wish we lived closer so we could make this our regular spot. In fact, we enjoyed it so much that we returned the next day. Maria, we wish you all the best and hope your restaurant becomes a success. We from Kent think it's a little gold mine. Absolutely beautiful food great friendly staff. Nicola was brilliant. Looked after us Great food . Have eaten in dozens of places locally but this is without doubt the best around
