I live to eat here whenever I'm in Montgomery. The food is authentic and flavorful. The prices are also reasonable. Most of the staff doesn't speak much English, so it helps to know a few key words in Spanish. The attached store also has a good selection of foods including baked goods. View all feedback.
What Ray S doesn't like about Taqueria El Campesino:
Besides the crazy loud generator, the ladies in the kitchen are kind and devoted to what they're doing. My only hang up is I can tell that some of their stuff is repurposed from other cheap products such as fire cheetos or microwaveable noodle packets, etc. I think with the flavors they've made, especially with the taco ramen dish, they have room to raise the bar on the quality of items they use.Birria tacos are tast... My first experience with this food truck and it was delicious. Birria tacos were superb. Tender meat and gooey cheese fresh from the grill and dipped in the broth.....yum! The ladies have done an admirable job keeping it running at a high level since the loss of their founder. It is cash only and takes 5-10 minutes to get your order prepared.
Quite unlike most restaurants recommended on Tripadvisor, this unpretentious little restaurant offers truly authentic Mexican food of the highest quality. Ignore the appearances, stay for the food.

First very good birria tacos! The ladies working this food truck in front of Black Abby know what they are doing. Great service, smiling faces, confident in their food. The tacos were delicious but I could have used a little salt or more acid to really enhance the meat and cheese. When I squeezed the lime on it the flavors popped! But unfortunately I used up my wedge before finishing. My bad. The consume was a delicious and decadent addition but I loved it, I could drink that stuff and be happy. I needed more napkins but enjoyed every bite.
