We decided to try Cafe Normandie after reading the great reviews online. We were not disappointed as everything was fresh and tasty. The 3 course specials were a good value ! We especially liked the escargot and the French onion soup for starters followed by the red snapper and the shrimp as gratin. The baguettes were fresh and crunchy. We finished our meal with the Creme brûlée and chocolate mousse. We will be back... View all feedback.
What JoanneL doesn't like about Cafe Normandie Naples:
Waiter smart Alex answers. Rushed us through appetizers. We asked not to serve dinner until we finished three appetizers we had ordered. Waiter every answer to our questions Smart remark. We tipped him well and should not have. We won't go back. Unfortunately it was completely different last time we were there and had looked for to the evening View all feedback.
Great little place to visit when in naples, due to its small dining room I recommend a reservation during season. Food was great! service was attentive and friendly, we had a very lovely meal.
Excellent as always. Tucker away in a non descriptive strip shopping center The owners serve as host and chef Authentic food and excellent wine selection. The country pate, escargot, duck, bourguignon, any thing you order is fresh, made to order We never miss eating here when we visit Naples. They close for a month in mid June thru July to go back to France (Lyon) I believe. Give it a try. You won't be disappointed
I went there once before and loved it so much, that I brought my husband this time to celebrate our 2nd wedding anniversary. We drove all the way from St. Petersburg, Florida. My favorite dish was the goat cheese salad and it was just as wonderful this time, with different flavors dancing on my tongue. My husband, who is a vegetarian loved it too. He had the Brie appetizer for his main course and said it was perfectly cooked, so it melted just slightly into the bread! I had the scallops and they were delicious! Service was so friendly and helpful. The atmosphere was cozy. It was perfect for our 2nd anniversary celebration.
We went to Café Normandie for the first time for a pre-Mother's Day dinner on Saturday night. I had the. foie gras pate, which was excellent, though a bit too cold, and the accompanying toast was a bit soggy. Neither small quibble affected my enjoyment of the pate itself. I then had the sweetbreads, a dish that is hard to find at most of the French restaurants in town, and they were spectacular, slightly crusty on the outside, tender on the inside, in a mushroom cream sauce that was perfect. I would go back again just to have that dish. My wife had an artichoke salad that was special for Mother's Day, followed by onion soup. She loved both. The service was fine, though it looked like the regulars got special treatment, which was not unreasonable The ambience was pleasant, though a bit informal for the quality and price of the menu, which consisted mainly of traditional French dishes. and the background music evoked a French café. I do not mean this review to sound negative. We had a wonderful evening, and we look forward to returning to the restaurant to try other items on their menu. Perhaps we will become regulars ourselves.
The food and service at Cafe Normandie is always top shelf. Due to small and intimate dinning room it makes the dining experience very special. The owner always has a few minutes to meet and greet the patrons. ?
