What 1Marine R 2 years ago on Google doesn't like about New Olympia (sushi):
Super rude owner and staff who didn’t even talked and barely looked at us. Unacceptable no child policy for this very simple restaurant the only one open on a rainy evening in all the Miyanoura area. We had to eat konbini food in our hotel room. The owner should move to Tokyo to pretend to this kind of discrimination ! View all feedback.
Amazing fresh food. The staff wernt too friendly or helpful. Felt like they disliked tourists
First night at Naoshima and this place was recommended to us. We had to wait a little bit to get a table but once we were in we had a room to ourselves and the food was delicious! Very authentic Japanese!
Nice atmosphere, food is very good ! Staff is really nice.

We wanted to try the Kaiseki (multi course dinner). Our server (the son of the father son duo I believe) spoke much better English than my Japanese and guided us to the ‘ume course’. Courses vary depending on the fresh products in season our courses were squid, sashimi with local salmon, seared mackerel and more, fried yellowfin, miso, pickles, rice and broiled fish. All were very good. The fried yellowfin was particularly outstanding. See photos for how lovely the food was, it tasted as wonderful as it looks. The only thing that could count against this place is the ambiance…the lighting is harsh but you can definitely see the food well. Service was efficient and warm and the food was excellent.
