The waiting staff here is the best notch. So friendly and goes over and over. In addition, to take care of you. The shrimps and grits here are a must try. I enjoyed the black salmon, although the veggie side would have seasoned more. Would this on any of the boring and tired endless seafood buffets that are nearby. The quality and the cook are worth it. View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Mr. Fish:
I went to this restaurant after reading the reviews and I was very disappointed. I love seafood and fish so this would have been the ideal place for me. But and I say but, the shrimp and grits were terrible 8 tiny shrimp with clumpy grits and the sauce was not good. The menu said customer choice for 2018 and 2019 somebody lied. Not worth $25 that’s for sure. The shrimp was not fresh. I want be back after our $65 bill... View all feedback.
Mr. Fish used to be one of our restaurants in the area. But it was a number of years since our last visit. So we decided to change this and I'm so glad we did. We arrived a few minutes after 8:00 on a Saturday night. Although a chalkboard sign at the door said they closed at 8 they assured us that they were still open. We sat right away. Our waitress Michelle was phenomenal all night. She was very friendly and attentive. She never let us feel hastily even though we are one of her last tables. She went by and up to make sure we had absolutely everything we thought we needed. She also worked with us to absorb the gluten-free allergy of our son. Our whole food was very good. The free bis fenced Hush puppies were addictive. I ordered the fried oyster-po-boy with fries. My son for the ulcered Korvina fish sandwich on gluten-free bread with frits and cucumber tomato salad. My daughter had the fried flounder of the children with fries. My husband got the fried lobster special for $30, that was a crazy deal!! Overall, it was a great experience. I'm glad this little business is still blooming after so many years!
The Staff here was very nice and patient with us as we took our time deciding what to eat. They were helpful throughout dinner as well with refilling drinks and the like. Food was great! Beer battered Fish and chips were an excellent suggestion and the blue crab legs were perfectly cooked. I do understand mandated gratuity, as far as American culture goes, for large parties but a four top (two adults with two kids) seems a tad skeezy. I dont stiff my servers but I rather choose the amount I give them and rather know that I am going to be charge X% extra to my meal. How about we just try to pay wait staff a reasonable wage so tips are actually a bonus and something to be excited about. Our server did let us know as she brought out the check and apologized for it, like it is her fault. Food and staff are great but I dont even know how much of the tip my server actually keeps. I wager if you are adding gratuity she isn't seeing it all.
We were on a weekend vacay. This place stays busy and waiting time was an 1hr. But that wasn't an issue at all. We did takeout and took it back to the resort. We order the Tradional Mr. Fish, Crab dip, Shrimp pasta. The good was awesome. We enjoyed every bit of it. The staff is so nice and helpful. The hours are tricky so make sure you get there early! Enjoy!!!
For Valentines we decided to get seafood. Since I was at work, I sent my boyfriend to pick up the seafood. I called Mr. Fish an inquired about the oysters. She replied a half of bushel would be 35 Dollars. My boyfriend whom never purchased these without me, didn't have a clue to what a half of bushel looks like. He spent over 100.00 dollars in shrimp, fish, oysters and crab cakes. When I arrived home and noticed the box of oysters and called Mr. FISH. I ask if we could return the oysters as we don't approve of the amount. The manager tried to explain that it was so many pounds that would be a half bushel. ? Also, she did ask if we had cooked them. I told her no. Finally, I said to her if that is the the way you operate, that was find. However we were not happy with the oysters and would like to return them. She stated they don't take food back. Wish I had went instead of him. We are locals and...will never spend another dime at this place. We got ripped off. Be careful where you spend your money, and look at your purchases.
