What User doesn't like about Wong's Happy Gathering Chinese Restaurant:
We stopped by for dinner and we're very disappointed by our meals. The sweet and sour pork was drowned in sauce and ladened with chunks of onion. 3 of the 12 pieces of pork was grisly. The fried rice was ok but the pork meal...More View all feedback.
We have recently enlisted here during the night in the murray bridge. it was a Thursday night and the restaurant was very quiet. we started with chickensatay and pork and Chive competitions for entrees. the Satay sauce was very strange, it was sticky and the color. artificially plundered. it was nothing like any satay sauce we had before. the cantons were thick and very chewing. the most important courses were honey chili huh and kung po huhn. no taste of chili, only an overload of honey, and the other dish was bland. no vibration or odor. overall disappointing. on the positive side was alcohol good and the service was ok.
With another couple we called, we sat immediately and gave both food drinks menus, both menus were extensive and the prices were reasonable. we ordered, combination satay (3,) garnelen and cashews, fried rice, combination vegetables, a house red, bourbon and dry and a bottle of brown brothers moscato. total bill was $123.90 all meals were of good size, hot and fresh. satay was a little different (combed with pineapple) and sauce was thinner than usual, but less it was most pleasant. decor looks a little tired, but that has not distracted from service or quality of the food. in any case on our radar, for if we are next in the murray bridge.
Located in a rustic character house with beautiful light windows in the first street, we enjoyed our meals during the visit of the murray bridge. the chefs special of zitronengrass huh was excellent, along with the orange duck. our waiter was very attentive and in the situation at wongs and. offered us a bottle better bubbly at the same price than they were not on stock with the one we ordered. very cheap and we would highly recommend.
Sunday we went to wongs to celebrate friends 70th birthday there were about 30 friends and family there and we had a banquet that was excellent and very plentiful the staff was very professional
We have eaten here several times with all levels of service, quality and quantity being exceeded. However tonight it was very disappointing. The service was slow despite only having one other table being occupied in the whole restaurant. The older lady serving us was abrupt...and not very warming. The Younger lady made up for this and was friendly. The quality was poor, with the fried rice being undercooked and hard. The quantity was the only redeeming factor with ample serviced. The old doggy bag (containers) were required to take left overs. Plus Wong Tong Soup Garlic Prawns. Minus Under cooked fried rice service.
