I had the best time at Honest Star Tropical Restaurant. Our host Daniel was 100% great, excellent, well informed and provided great suggestion in regards to the menu. I had ogbono soup and that was delicious. Being out of state, I was surprised how big the portion sizes were just for under $18. I took my leftover homes and the food was even more delicious. What Valarie Haynes doesn't like about Honest Star Tropical:
I ordered three dishes wachee jallof with mixed meat and peanut stew with white rice.. I spent 80 dollars on this food. The white rice was hard and tasteless the peanut butter stew had white hard unseasoned chicken in the stew. The stew was like a like soup. The atmosphere and the ambiance of the restaurant is excellent. Though it is an African restaurants, their customers are African food lovers. There were non-African nationals enjoying delicious food as well. I will be back.
Subpar food, service was atrocious. If your specialty is Ghanaian cuisine, why not stick with that? Una nor dey taste the food as una dey cook am?
Always love their foods. Best African restaurant in the Atlanta in my opinion . Being eating here for 3+ years. Never got disappointed . Also friendly and great staff

These are facts not being mean. The food was basically inedible. Will not be going back.
First time trying African food. Was excited but after seeing things which not edible… I wondered about the quality of the food I’ve spent my money on. I regretted a bit after picking this restaurant to try new cuisine and not taking consideration about those newest reviews from this restaurant. Staff wasn’t friendly they looked at me like why this Asian one knows about our restaurant). Overall food wasn’t impressed
