Caffe Aragonese - MUGNANO DEL CARDINALE

We had a family lunch here in mid October 2022 and had pre booked the day before. The entire experience was pleasant. The service was attentive without being fussy, and the staff were friendly and helpful. The food (hot) was beautifully and exquisitely presented, without being precious. It was also tasty and imaginative. The staff explained to us that the Chef is one of the 100 top chefs in Italy, and we entirely believe this. They explained that ordinarily, out of season, only cold food is served at lunchtime, but because we had pre booked for a few people they had brought their evening Chef in specially to make a hot menu available. By way of wine, we had an excellent local Taurasi. Although the food and wine could be described as fine dining , the price was what could be described as mid range , and certainly considerably less pricy than an equivalent restuarant in Naples Central. The staff were knowledgeable and justly proud of the historic building of the restaurant, which is neat, clean and well presented. It is also only a short post prandial stroll (10 15 minutes) from the Sanctuary of St Philomena perfect for combining lunch with a pilgrimage to the Santuary once the Sanctuary re opens around 4 p.m. This restaurant is a welcome world away from the rough, and sometimes pretentious, eateries of Naples and we look forward to coming back.

We ate lunch here with our children and had an amazing lunch. The food was excellent. The chef prepared a starter for our table, and the food came out quickly thereafter. Everything was excellent, and it was one of the best meals we had in Italy during the week. The manager spoke with us and gave us a tour of the historic property.

Lovely and refined location. elegant and welcoming service, aperitif and excellent drinks. low prices if we consider the products and the place. recommended if you want to spend a nice evening and above all make a beautiful figure.
