Arrived in Munich Sunday late afternoon for a few days worth of business meetings. Expecting to find few options for dinner much to my surprise El Español was open just about 10 min walk from the hotel. Excellent seafood dinner with a couple glasses of...Rioja, cannot beat that anywhere.
Good option for having Spanish food in Munich. The staff is friendly and the quality of food good... not an extraordinary place but an worth try. We had “Shrimps grilled oil garlic” and “Shrimps El Español” style. See the photos. :
This Spanish restaurant is around for quite a few years and is not particularly cosy or stylish. The menu offers a good and typical Spanish selection at reasonable prices. However, the very fresh tapas are slightly overpriced, and I definitely prefer the paella with short...grain rice. The major flaw is the service, which is not particularly knowledgable and certainly not attentive. Occassionally, the patron roams around with seemingly no interest in his guests. Still, not a bad Spanish restaurant and we will probably return.
My daughter (age 12) had dinner with her class at your restaurant this evening. My wife and I also dined at the restaurant but sat at a different table. As I was leaving, my daughter told me the male waiter had asked her group to...quiet down during dinner. When he didn't get satisfaction, he returned, yelled at a child and threw a napkin at him. I can imagine the children were loud; the whole place was loud. With that said, it would have been appropriate to talk with the teacher supervising the group rather than confronting one child in an aggressive manner. I find the waiter's behavior completely unacceptable and we will not return to your restaurant even though the food (and our service) were very good. I would like to ask the waiter if he would have responded in the same way if the customer would have been over the age of 12. Something tells me he wouldn't have the guts to throw a napkin in MY face.
