crust is thin and crispy. Sauce is sweet and delicate. The cheese is right. They put the sauce over the cheese to keep the dough from becoming so tender. All this leads to the best pizza I found so far. They don't make slices, just whole cakes. This is so that you can get the freshest slice of pizza. Wait a minute or two before you dig in because the pizza will burn the roof of your mouth. I've done it a lot. Make su... View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Johnny's Pizzeria:
It's been Johnny's pizza for over 60 years. In recent years, I have served too often a crunchy cake? It's like a cracker. In addition, too many cakes now have little cheese and lots of sauce. As I said, a Johnny fan has been for many years, but I feel the need to speak so that the high quality Johnny is maintained for many years. Thank you. View all feedback.
Who said Cheese must be upstairs? This is a very thin crust pizza! Great taste every time I come here! In the heart of Mt Vernon.
Here it is. Come ready to eat. For over 10 years here? Not too cheesy, not too thin, not too saucy, right! Love the memory. Feels at home every time.
7.7 A tasty thin slice that makes you want to eat many slices, possibly due to the fact that it is so light. The cheese pie is made so thin and with such little cheese and tomato sauce that on sight I thought it was pepperoni. I admittedly was picking up and was 20 minutes late so I ate it warm while driving, yet still enjoyed and have no doubts it would have been even better hot.
The pizza is amazing here. The dough and crust are crunchy and taste great. The mozzarella cheese taste very neutral and the pizza sauce is real good. They put grated mozzarella cheese on the pie. I get my pie without the grated mozzarella cheese.
My mom and I are visiting NY from Ohio and decided to try Johnny?s for dinner. We absolutely LOVED everything about it. The staff was so warm and inviting. Everyone was very kind even with how busy they were. We had the fried ravioli, chicken Caesarsalad, stuffed rigatoni Alfredo, pizza and meatballs. They had 3 guys working the pizza oven. One tossing the dough, one toppingthe dough and another cooking the pizza. The rigatoni tasted like homemade noodles and the Alfredo sauce was OUT OF THIS WORLD!I really felt like I was having dinner at my Italian grandmother?s house!
