Smitty's Family - Mount Pearl

Very busy which was expected as it was a Sunday morning. Tried the chicken quesadilla for the first time and was very disappointed to the find chicken completely unseasoned. Had to dip in ranch and franks hot sauce and still wasn’t great. But thankfully everything came out hot despite the busyness.

Smitty's is a good diner with a decent bill of fare, service is good, food is hot, portions are reasonable. A good place for family dining with a menu that will have something for most folks.

I ordered the Newfoundland Eggs Benedict. These are supposed to be made with a poached egg. Instead they bake them in a muffin tin. The eggs were tough and rubbery. The fish cake is the frozen variety. Mine was ice cold in the middle. Same quality for the hashbrowns. Service was adequate but the food was terrible.

The WORST, waited 45 minutes after ordering, no coffee refill while waiting for food… we ended up leaving. The staff just ignored us, there were two of them putting cutlery into napkins while the whole place filled up with customers, people would sit down, given menus and then ignored, we watched 3 tables just give up and leave when no one came to take their order. No one was eating everyone just sitting there confused… it’s a restaurant right? Don’t bother, go to bagel cafe downtown

5 different meals and everyone truly enjoyed their food. Service was excellent.
