We were staying at the Tower Motel 100m up the road so handy for a feed. The Bistro opens at 6pm and locals flock to it around that time. Quite a large space in bistro with salad bar and veggie bar included with mains. The menu is limited to the usual pub bistro items so I had the rissoles and gravy which came as two small rissoles and a blob of mash $13. It was enough topped up with the veggie bar and quite nice. What User doesn't like about Western Tavern:
We had an adult's birthday party here along with 2 other groups with similar events. Meals were reasonably priced for pub food and drinks were also OK price. As the venue was very full it was rather noisy and service was a little slow and disorganized. They arranged for the birthday cakes to arrive at the tables at different times so there was not competing singing. A very pleasant evening. View all feedback.
Great service staff always willing to help and have a smile on their face while doing it, good food and decent prices
The staff at this restaurant are fantastic, I enjoy coming here. It is the best pub in town, and I always have a great time whenever I visit.
Absolutely fantastic experience! The staff are wonderful, the food is delicious, and the atmosphere is top-notch. They have a great selection of slot machines as well. I will definitely be returning!
Had a fantastic parmy and pint and Staff are just amazing. Went there Sunday night and the couldnt of faulted the lovely girls
What’s the deal with charging $16 for a Gin Tonic. I mentioned to the friendly staff that l gave here $20 as she only gave me $4 back and she said the Gin was $10 for a shot of Gordon’s (not Tanqueray or Bombay, and l had to buy a small 300ml bottle of tonic which was $6. Now l live close to Port Douglas in Far North Queensland and no where there or even Cairns chargers that much for a basic spirit. I have just travelled across 4x states in Oz in the last 5months and have been to more pubs in that time than most and lve never come across a price like this. Actually I’ve never been charged $16 anywhere is Australia, even Perths City and that’s saying something. It’s Mt Gambier and the pub is as basic as your going to get. Come on management/publican please explain the ludicrous prices. I’m very keen to hear your explanation.
