What Star Gaze doesn't like about The Engine House:
Normally great but this evening two of our kids split a pizza and they have been on the toilet all night, so I have to give 1 for food but 5 for service and atmosphere. Very sad to say because we loved this place. Update: wings that weren’t eaten that night I warmed up the next day and I have been having toilet issues since. View all feedback.
This place was excellent all about it was great. They were barely occupied and we had quite good service. The food was impeccable, hot and fresh. We have the fish and chips, but instead of chips I baked there Mac and cheese was a substitute. And this fish was amazing, perfectly fritted beautiful crispy outside and the interior, it was beautifully fluffy pieces of meat that just fell apart. The photo I took should explain some of how flaky it was. We also have the Muffaletta sandwich of her version, I say her version because I really did and it's not the same at all. Yours is good when it is made with a pizza dough, so it looks like a piece of pizza with dough on both sides like stuffed pizza from Tanya. Could have used more meat inside, but the meat in it was very tasteful. Oh man a Muffaletta from Central Grocery and Deli, eating beside the mighty Mississippi something for an experience! If they made the sandwich here... Oh and the baked Macn cheese was excellent! Wow I didn't expect it to be so good, even in a ceramic pot came with it all crispy around the edge. Was so hot and fresh, it was still warm when I kept my food in check! Very cheesy and the noodles were quite close to perfectly cooked. The kicker here is that we eat here, a good time, a train passes, like 10 minutes later they go around to hand out Jello shots! How who does it?! It made our experience so much bigger than it was already! Apparently every time a train passes, they do that and it was a tradition forever. Oh, yeah, the appetizer was great, the deep roasted Mac and cheese bites were on point. This is a great place and will definitely be back and probably go back. The atmosphere was great when the whole Firehouse Vibe went on, they had fortifications from the original building still on the walls at some places. Look at this place safely if you haven't done it yet.
Excellent sandwich and pommes! A train, a free shot! There are many trains! Love the atmosphere... great nostalgia. Unbelievable daily specialties. Great staff, quick service. The pizza looked fantastic and I said it. I have to try when I go back.
The first time here met with some friends. We have salads and pizzas. We all enjoyed it. They've been there several times. I'll probably be back when I visit Michigan. Service was and she said she was new to set a good body. We enjoyed them. I recommend
Me and my mom and aunt all went here on Sunday and they had a special for a brisket sandwich served with cheese and onion straws which actually were onion rings which were amazing and it was literally the best brisket I've ever had in my life it was the most tender in the most delicious every bite was better than the last. To top The Experience off a train came by and apparently they do something where when a train goes by everybody in the place gets a free Jello shot so that was kind of fun. If you are anywhere in the area do yourself a favor and come check this place out I don't doubt that their other food is just as amazing.
Food was phenomenal, I was actually surprised. With a big party and the service not disappointed. As for the price, I paid for the quality that was absolutely worth every penny. I'm definitely back here. Very recommended!
