As you walk in the front door, you realise there's nothing run of the mill about this restaurant. The owners, Cheryl and Geoffrey, do everything themselves-cooking, watering, cleaning. Geoffrey even built the place! The attention to detail is amazing. In fact I would love to have moved in immediately. The morning tea snacks were all homemade. There was nothing that I'd seen on another menu. The views to the Stirlings we... View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Caber House:
My daughter and I went with two friends for lunch, when ordered was asked that I keep my daughter in her chair (she is 2) as she would disrupt other patrons. At this stage she had not made a noise. I said they need to advertise that they are NOT kid friendly only to be told this was not possible. Menu was disappointing with stuffed mushrooms that were taken out of the freezer. Credit where credit is due.. lovely view... View all feedback.
We had a delightful two-night stay at Caber House in April. This was our second visit and we plan on returning again. The location is convenient for accessing Albany, Porongurup National Park, and the nearby wineries, making it a great choice for anyone wanting to explore the Great Southern region. The hosts were wonderful and the coffee was excellent. Thank you, Sheryl and Geoffrey, for a great stay!
Stayed at Caber House for 2 nights with a friend. What a wonderful place! It reeks of class with underfloor heating in both bathroom and bedroom, quality linen and fixtures. There are thoughtful touches such as toiletries, reading material and a great dvd selection. Breakfast is provided and the coffee is superb! Thank you Sheryl and Geoffrey. We shall return.
We stayed two nights and would happily stay again! Lovely hospitality Immaculately clean, comfortable, modern, very well designed accommodation... Peaceful surroundings with views of Stirling Ranges Just on outskirts of Mt Barker so it's convenient as a base to explore the Porongurups and Stirling Ranges
Love! Love! Love this place! Three nights wasn't long enough. Beautiful, unique and set in a gorgeous landscape. Creature comforts included under floor heating; so warm and cozy. Great for a winter getaway!
Stayed 2 nights in early October at this restaurant. The hosts were excellent and the building and location were fantastic. The accommodation was private, impeccably clean, comfortable, modern, and interesting. The self-built pole home was the perfect base for exploring the region. Mt Barker is conveniently located in the center of many attractions within the larger area.
