We order delivery from this restaurant several times a month. The staff is very friendly and the food is consistently delicious. Our favorites are the Panang noodles, basil chicken, and Thai iced tea. We highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a reliable Thai restaurant. View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Lai Thai:
I ordered the hot and spicy dish and my mouth is burning! I had a good laugh with the staff who made or served it because of my reaction. The dish was very spicy, but that's the whole point. The service was excellent and I had to drink a lot of water to cool down. View all feedback.
They have hired a psycho To answer the phone named WINDY. She is rude, and hangs up the phone on people. I asked her if all the Curries have fish Sauce she said YES, so BEWARE vegans and vegetarians. I also asked her if they made anything without fish sauce on the menu and very rudely she replied we can not make ANYTHING without fish sauce. I asked to speak to a manger or the owner and she hung up the phone on me. Very bad customer service and does not serve to the vegetarians and vegans.
I love Thai food but this location is a big winner for me.
Wanted to shop in front of location, so came here to get out. Thai worst food never worry! ordered golden noodle suppe, which is known in the khao soy supposed to be hearty kosnuss curry nudelsuppe with huhn. the broth had no taste, as it was extremely watered down. the hen was quite hard to find through all liquid; 5 or 6 miniscule pieces at best. no sweet in the watery broth and the noodles were ultra-thin, not egg noodles, and they were also in short supply. it should contain some crispy noodles and add raw twee on the suppe. I don't have one. asked for extra lime, received two extremely small pieces. also had a sequence of dry, hard, stale tasting, early rolls. $17.00 later and I am still starving! note on self: never try a new restaurant when they are excessively hungry. ps: sign it at the door that the proof of vase is required. they never asked for it.
Little gem that you need to know about! The food was delicious and very affordable. Clean establishment and the staff was very attentive.
After a long stretch of pickup/carryout only, Lai Thai is offering dine-in service again. The physical layout is benches and small tables along both walls and three tables lined up in the center. The restaurant is spotless and I know they take extensive safety precautions. However, I'm still not comfortable eating indoors yet, so I am continuing to order takeout. They offer an extensive menu. I prefer the Panang Curry to everything else the flavours are perfectly balanced. Just typing the words Panang Curry makes me want to pick up the phone and place an order for some. And don't miss their Thai iced drinks. Lai Thai is located in the strip mall at the northeast corner of Dempster and Harlem.
