We always eat here at least once when we come to Morehead City! For two of us, it was $56. I had fried flounder with baked potato and my partner got fried shrimp. We both had tea. The flounder didn't have any flavor. Very lackluster and disappointing. Hope it's better next time we come through! View all feedback.
What Felicity Rosenbaum doesn't like about Sanitary Fish Market & Restaurant.:
Notice I posted a picture of the surroundings not the food! The scenery is the best part of this restaurant! I was expecting a great meal but was sadly disappointed. We paid $70 for seafood should have went to Bojangles. The she crab soup was terrible. Scallops were fried to long, which made them hard. They weren?t drained on a paper towel, which made the plate grease the scallops scoggy! Hush puppies were so dry I c... View all feedback.
While I visited my son and his wife, I had the opportunity to dinate in the holy world. the lookout of our table was beautiful, and we enjoyed a basket of piping hot hush weep while we waited to come for our meal. it took a little time to get our food, but it was definitely worth waiting. garnels were my choice, the children ordered fried garnel, fish and grilled chicken. we were satisfied with the portions, I had a lot to eat to fill my togo box. we had no place for dessert, so we took home. I have to say their cakes are over delicious.
This has been a source of many fine meals for many years. we are always happy to come here and see the boats over.
The waitress was excellent. I love it that it was right at the sea. the only problem is that eating is not the big one. my seafood potato was amazing, but my friends dish had not tasted much and didn't taste fresh. they gave their money back gratefully. eating taste could improve definitiw, but a great place to eat.
We just left. We were visiting from out of state and like many others the restaurants in either direction had 30-40 min wait. We really wanted to go to Ruddy Ducks. We didn't want a wait, so walked to this one. No wait lots of tables. Big mistake. Have patience and go somewhere else. The hush puppies weren’t hot, butter is not melted. The shrimp Im sure was store bought frozen. I think they they boiled the shrimp from the frozen state. The shrimp were rubbery in very watered down butter sauce, no seasoning at all. She said she would take it off the bill, so she took it back yet still charged for the 1/2 eaten salad. RUN !!
We have been coming here for dinner off and on since 2005 and this year they seem to be struggling. The food was smaller in portions and a bit overpriced. We will eventually give them another try but this place seems to be declining. It is such a neat place with a lot of potential-hopefully they can get it worked out and make it a great place again. Service was great, but they were out of several things that we came in to order, flounder being one of them.
