Gen Sushi Hibachi - Montvale

The hibachi was excellent as usual. I had filet and it was very fresh and tasty. Benny the hibachi chef is always friendly and consistently makes a great hibachi meal. The hostess/waitresses (Sophie and Helen) are very polite and attentive. Have been going to Gen for 15 years and have always had a great experience. On weekends it is best to make a reservation if you want to sit at the hibachi table.

Dined in on a weekend night. Tried making reservation but no one answered the phone. Plenty of parking in the strip mall lot. They were pretty busy so it took a while for the server to take our order but after that the service was good. The gyoza was very good. California roll was a 3/10 just not that fresh. The soup and salad were very good and the hibachi chicken was okay. They didn't have yummy sauce and the ginger sauce was just salad dressing. The food was okay and the service was good. We did see a staff member pull out a five gallon bucket from a fridge, put it in the floor, and ladle salad dressing into another container that was also on the floor. This was pretty gross and in full view of the dining area.

We have fun and the hibachi dinner , thank you very much Mr.Benny, the chief of hibachi, he did good job ! good food good service.

The best Chilean Sea Bass with steamed delicious vegetables with light sauce. No oils and just right. Big portions of vegetables. Appreciate the beautiful arrangement of sushi platters also. Hibachi Grill is a delight. Ty!

Rude owner. when we called to order the owner was over rude and I am a regular customer since before the expansion and opening of a new location. when I told him he was rude and she would take my business elsewhere, he told me he wasn't going anywhere else, there are many other good sushi places close (as yuki in montvale, nj,) if they don't care about their customers I think the customers should not be so loyal to them. I will tell all my employees about kpmg and fitnessgirl at the gym in montvale to take their business elsewhere.
