View all feedback.
What Lucy Palmer doesn't like about Restaurant du Pont:
I was not in the mood to walk downhill again from the old town to find a restaurant near the promenade so I ended up here, about a 7 minutes’ walk from the Tralala Hotel. The place has a cozy terrace. My choice was a fish dish with French fries and some salad. The fish was so salty that I couldn’t enjoy it. Lots of wine needed here.Restaurants are crazy expensive in Montreux and this one was no exception. It is even... View all feedback.

Excellent food and service. There is a limited number of alternatives in the menu but all the dishes are delicious and well presented, from entrées to desserts. The service was great and the terrace very cozy. We will surely come back.

Alright, folks, get over it. They don't serve tap water. It says so on the menu. If that's your complaint, then you're missing the point. The bottled water does just fine, and is not the reason you come here. But let's get onto the important stuff. The service was charming; our waitress was perhaps even more so as she was ecstatic that we spoke and understood French. The food was well portioned and absolutely delicious. My smoked perch salad terrific. My daughter's octopus, delicate and tasty. My lamb, done with herbes de provence, fantastic. The desserts all knocked our socks off. My son and I had a wonderful chocolate lava cake. My younger daughter was delighted by her meringue with fresh whipped cream. My older daughter scooped up every last morsel of her creme brulee. And my wife swooned over the dessert special -- a frozen soufle with a grand marnier topping. The location deservedly can actually be called unique, for where else is there a patio fora restaurant surrounded by flowers, next to a rushing stream that provides a pleasant background noise, and right next to a bridge that overlooks Lake Geneva, which bridge was lined with flower boxes brimming with geraniums. The only mark against the location is that it sits within 10 meters of the funicular railway, which provides quaint entertainment every 20 minutes or so when it trundles by. But no worries, there are only two cars on the funicular, so if you don't like the noise, it's over quite soon. Would I go again? In a heartbeat. Great spot. Worth the hike.
