The music was so loud that I couldn’t hear my girlfriend speaking to me, which made it less than ideal for a romantic dinner and conversation. However, the crème brûlée was absolutely delicious! View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Terrasse Place D'armes:
The service was quite slow, even though the restaurant wasn't busy. The food was overcooked, and our server didn't even check in to see if we needed any drinks or refills. Overall, I was very disappointed! View all feedback.
Beautiful room and included breakfast was frankly one of the best meals we had around! We did have some issues with A/C and thermostat that was initially not dealt with wonderfully by the weekend manager, although follow up discussion with Renaud, the front desk director, was excellent, we were even given voucher for another stay there which I'm looking forward to.
I will always recommend Place D'Armes to people coming to visit Montréal. It's in the heart of the city; Old Montréal, with all it's charm and cobble-stone streets. The hotel service is everything you want out of a fancy hotel and more. Starting with the valet service that comes and helps you with your bags, to the front desk, to the cleanliness of the hotel, to the amazing restaurants. The rooms have a charm to them that is reminiscent of being in a hotel in Europe.I booked a basic Queen room for my wedding night for 2 nights, not telling the hotel that I was staying with my new husband. When they saw me check-in makeup done, with my dress over my shoulder, and bridesmaids beside me, they upgraded me to a King Suite with 2 bathrooms, a jacuzzi, and den. The room was SO gorgeous that we did the bridal photos in there beside the window drapes of the floor-to-ceiling windows. It was so magical and so nice of them.I couldn't recommend this hotel enough. Thank you again, Place D'Armes!
Our stay was perfection. The location is walking distance to everything you’ll love about Old Montreal and the downtown core. The hotel itself has so much charm and character. We stayed in a junior suite with balcony and it was roomy, cozy and very well appointed. The soaker tub and rain shower were exactly what we needed for a pampered stay. The hotel rooftop bar has incredible views and fabulous cocktails and the restaurant was scrumptious. The service was exceptional. We had a problem with our AC and it was fixed quickly.Would highly recommend a stay here. For the features, service, and amenities provided and the fact that you’re in the heart of Old Montreal, it was incredible value.
Returned to this hotel after 10 years because I have fond memories of my first stay. The hotel has expanded to 3 buildings and my room was in building 1 which is the newer part of the hotel. It did not compare to my first experience. It lost its old world charm. My friends had a room in building 3 which I much prefer. I believe that's the original part of the hotel. Overall, it's still a good hotel with 3 restaurants that serve fine food. Only issue is with the cleaning staff. Our first day, I noticed that the bathroom floor was very sticky. Suspected that the floor was not cleaned properly from previous guests. Just expected they would notice and mop it the next day, but it didn't get mopped properly until after our 3rd night. Cleaning staff was very inconsistent. Ran out of toilet paper. They came in to replace towels etc...but did not refill the toilet paper. Had to ask twice before I finally got some. Overall, it just didn't feel as luxurious as it did 10 years ago.
Wow, what a disappointment this place was. Upon entering our room, the smoke smell instantly made us sick. The decor was old and outdated. They shut off the water the next day for a few hours. The toilet plugged up and it took 40 minute to delivery a plunger. It's a bunch of old office buildings put together to make a hotel. Looks cute in photos, not so much in real life. They won't let us have late check out although we were leaving Monday and they had those same rooms available through Expedia. This is definitely not a 4 star hotel, a 3 at best. But for $600 a night, even with the bigger space, you're better off staying at a well known brand name hotel that's smaller. The location was the only upside.
