What User doesn't like about Joverse:
trendy restaurant, frequented by a rather young and easy customer base. the map is brief, the portions a little fair, but everything is good. have taken oysters (small, non-iodated, different from home), a salmon tartar (well raised) and a poutine (to duck confit, very good). little wine in glass, friendly service. one big problem: the sound atmosphere. The music is so strong that we have to scream to talk to each ot... View all feedback.
Had a drink and snack on the patio ate joverse. it was located close to our hotel and we couldnt resist the dining outside experience. the service was good and the views of the street were historic.
I have only tried this place like a nightclub and I've enjoyed it a lot both times I was there. The music is very good, the DJ plays hit after hit and doesn't do weird mixes or anything (especially on Saturday nights). The prices for their bottles aren't jacked up like other places in Old Montreal. The bathrooms are clean and they have a bunch of them, but you have to go down very narrow stairs so be careful if you're wearing heels. The average age of the crowd is around 25 I'd say and no one is very young. I believe they don't let in anyone under 20. The bartenders are very friendly and patient, very generous with alcohol as well. I would definitely recommend.
Overall it was a great night music and food was really good. Everything was excellent until it was time to leave .... there should have been at least half a caked left as it was very large and we were few people but when I asked for it on my way out my waitress said there was none left. When I told her it was impossible she brought me a little mountain of chocolate sponge that had been obviously eaten with a fork!! Beware if in a similar situation I guess ask for your cake back in advance!
We were 3 couples and we were looking for a nice dinner out and possibly some dancing afterwards. We were also looking for an older crowed (35 and up) which wasn't really the case. They have an option on their menu that if you are a group of 4 or more then you can order everything from the menu for a group rate. This really worded out well for us! The poutine was very good, the best dish wash the many wild mushroom past dish and everything else was tasty as well. Wouldn't go back to eat here thought if I was just with one or two other people. The service was HORRIBLE! It took for ever to get our drinks, forever to get our food and then after spending more the 600$ they said we had to leave our table and stand at the bar or order a bottle!!! That's insane. Music during dinner was good, old school RNB and then more popular songs as it started to become a night club.
The food was really good. Service was beh. Music very good (old school). It was a slow night so there wasnt many people.
