70043 Settecentoquarantatre - MONOPOLI

We had our air bnb appartment in the Porto Nuovo area of Monopoli which is 500m from the center. One evening we discovered this pearl our way to the center. Since we were hungry we decided to give it a go. We didn 't regret it. It started with a deleicious House Antipasto presented on a level well above our expectations and previous experiances. After that we had the best Orecchietti Cime di Rapa in three weeks Puglia. The kids had a smashing Black Angus beef 'burger '. But to call this a burger is almost an insult to this dish. Seved in bread (Puccia) fresh from the pizza oven with fresh vegetables and Mozzarella di buffala, it was the really italian way of burger. Just delicious. The staff was very friendly and the prices very reasonable. We went there the next day again. Definitely worth the few steps from the center. Btw my wife is Italian and knows excellent italian food, when she gets it.

As I say on the title, this typical Italian bar may seem to be enjoyed only for their amazing espresso or tasty cocktails, but you would be highly surprised if you decide to sit down and start ordering some food. It doesn't really matter if you decide to have a meal for lunch or dinner, the quality of the food will always be GREAT !!! A marvellous mix between modernity and authenticity of Pugliese food. IT MUST BE TRIED !!! Highly recommended

The location and first appearance is that of a bar but don't be put off, quite refined dining in a casual space with super staff await you. Fabulous on every level, cannot recommend highly enough.
