True Coffee Roasters Cafe - Monona

I’m very particular about my coffee and this place exceeded my expectations! I got their cold brew and two breakfast items which were also really good! The service was amazing, staff was friendly and the shop was clean and well decorated. If I visit Madison again this will be my choice of coffee. Great job!

So, I’ve come here multiple times in the past but, this time ruined what could’ve been a wonderful start to my morning due to a very bad personality. I ordered the usual miel and then saw someone making a frappe. I simply asked if it was possible to make a miel as a blended drink. The girl taking my order didn’t know so she asked a person with ombré blonde hair and a mustache. Idk if that person woke up in the wrong side of the bed but she started talking to me with a bad attitude. “So, you want a frappe?”. I said, “ can it taste like the miel?”. Silent pause for a moment. Response: “ so basically, you want a frappe. That’s what you’re asking for. So, that’s what we’re gonna do”. I just said “never mind I’ll just take the regular miel” to the lady taking my order as I became uncomfortable. But if I gave an attitude back, I’d be wrong, right? I usually eat inside but, the vibe was off and I no longer felt comfortable in a place I usually enjoy my morning cup of coffee and breakfast at. I hope she’s not working tomorrow. I was calm today. I may not be so calm to the rudeness tomorrow but, we’ll see.

First and foremost- the coffee! Roasted on site, lots of interesting bean options, and all super fresh. We also got a latte and chai to go, as well as some vegetarian chorizo wraps with fresh salsa that were really tasty and the perfect little lunch- very affordable. We’re big fans!

Amazing coffee! Really reasonable prices.Pastries are pretty good; also appetizing sandwiches and wraps. Tried their bacon and egg sandwich around 1:30 on a weekday, curious because someone earlier mentioned the bacon was too hard. However, I found it to be perfect and the biscuit fresh and delicious. Ordering online is very convenient. Never seems to be too busy. Nice relaxing and spacious shop!

This felt like a place that I could spend hours studying/working in. Staff was really pleasant, the coffee was delicious, and the food was incredible (especially the chocolate croissant)! They also had a cute assortment of greeting cards, Wisconsin-themed gifts, and merchandise displaying their brand. I'll be back soon!
