Mexicali Rosa's - Moncton

We wanted something close to the hotel as we arrived back from our excursion at 10pm. There seemed to be a party inside but they accommodated our party of 6 on the upper level.Server was great....friendly and attentive. The food was average but I was able to get vegetarian and gluten free food.

On adore la cuisine mexicaine, celle qui est authentique, alors on a vraiment été charmé. La décoration est aussi sublime. Ça a été notre repas le plus cher de notre voyage, mais de loin le meilleur! Malgré que les prix sont raisonnables. Essayer les chimichangas avec le chili en accompagnement . La serveuse parlait très bien français, donc pouvait nous expliquer le menu. Le personnel est très accueillant.

Overall have had better meals here. We ordered Chipotle Chicken Nachos - no flavour, thin layer of nachos, small plate - expected more and was disappointed - would not order them again and not worth the $ & also ordered Chimichangas with a side of spanish rice - very good, lots of flavour and filling.

Walking through town with our 11 month old, seen the outdoor seating and figured we'd try something different (we're from N.S and have never been to this restaurant or Moncton before). Waitresses are busy, we weren't sure if we just grabbed a table outside, so we asked and yes you just sit at an available table. Sat a few minutes, no one mentioned they'd bring us menus or they'd be with us shortly.. so my husband ran in and got menus for us! I think when we first sat the waitress could have mentioned 'be out with menus shortly guys.' If you see a family standing for 5 mins staring at tables.. ask them 'hey guys did you need any help?'. Food: was delicious !! it truly was. The chicken club quesadilla was the BEST we've had. The dip was mostly "beany" tasting but it was still good. The chips and salsa they bring out as a curtesy were delicious and a nice touch! Mexican rice: pretty good. It was just a little pricey for the portion size. The service could have been friendlier. But food is great!

Enjoyed my visit - service was good - if not exceptional. They certainly did not rush us. Good downtown location - liked the Tic Tac's they gave us upon leaving
