As good as a suburban shopping strip Indian Café as one can get in this part of town. Have had 2 home-deliveries (Menulog) prior to our visit here. Suitably impressed. Nothing fancy, just hearty "home-cooking". Very reasonably priced. Happy friendly "family-affair" in the waitstaff and kitchen cooks. View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Tara's Cafe and Indian Restaurant:
Worst Indian food.no flavours. Looks like just chic flour added to gravy. Terrible terrible. Overpriced. Not even worth paying more for gravies. Chutneys and pappads are charged extra.Seems like they have used frozen breads rather than making fresh. Complete wastage of money.fake Indian food.better to cook at home rather than eating there.. Saturday night. My partner and I decided to eat out. What a mistake. Walked past, restaurant empty. Partner said she had heard reasonable reviews. From who!!!!!!!! Wine list was house wine, no options. Red was terrible, Neither of us could finish the glass. Mixed tandoori entree. Sweet over dyed and ordinary. $22 rubbish. Chicken curry. I doubled up on the tandoori bread as I expected something I could dip into the curry and enjoy the flavours. Rubbish. Dry chicken curry. Two serves of naan which appeared to be heated on a cook top. Thin based pizza style. Crisp Thin and absolutely nothing like plain naan, We could not even eat one slice. Doubled up for nothing. Check out no apologise, questions paid full price. Do not waste your time. Better options close buy. Never, Never again.
Great local Indian. Good quality, tasty and service. Nice ambiance and comfort to dine in. Come with Indian family and non Indian friends .., all enjoy. Awesome take away ... but whole meal naan does not do well as a takeaway dish.
A quiet little resaurant in a lovely suburb. Typical Indian food . Service was a little slow but the food was really and value for money. Would go there again.
My friends and I have been visiting Taras for years and it never fails to disappoint. We have tried a wide variety of foods on the menu and they are consistently beautiful. I particularly love the butter chicken. The staff are also very friendly. I live in Bendigo and I wish Taras would open up another cafe there.
This restaurant will give you great food every time. I’ve been dozens of times. Friendly owner and staff. Perhaps the highest praise is that my friend of Indian descent rates it as amongst the best Indian restaurant he’s ever visited. Strongly positive review!!
