beachfront views. unique property in that place. It's expensive even if the food is rich. the sangria jar is expensive. I recommend, the ration of glasses. The dessert of calatrava bread is very good. View all feedback.
What Ray Flaherty dislikes about Chiringuito Macenas:
Great seaside location. Food variable. Nice cold beer. Metal shack beach bar. With terrace indoor seating. Mixed salad, plain/average. Sea bream, very nice! Served with plain/average chips. Coffee decent. Cañas nice €1.80. Nice setting. Friendly barman. Spanish. Little English spoken View all feedback.

Is a pleasant place, however it does not stand out food or service. You can leave but don't expect anything excellent.

One of the best rose wines! Nice food basic fayre and friendly staff you can hire 2 comfy sun beds with 2 free drinks for 10 euro
Today we were braving the heat and took a long walk from our hotel to the Torre del pirulico. Being honest it was further than we thought and by the time we were walking past Chiringuito Macenas we were all gasping for some nice chilled water. This is s remote location (compared to the obvious restaurants in the town) and sat between a sandy car park and the main beach. Don’t expect top restaurant service, but do expect a quality choice of fresh fish dishes and an authentic atmosphere. I ordered the sardines, my kids had the swordfish salmon dishes. My wife had the pork loin steaks and all dishes were great value and top quality. For the quality, prices were very reasonable and this place must be in your list when visiting in the area. We only had lunch here so not sure what it’s like for dinner. Thanks Chiringuito Macenas for a great meal.
This chiringuito is a hidden gem and is essentially what chiringuitos should be a basic pit stop! It is well away from the main drag in Mojacar Playa and we only discovered it by doing the cliff walk from the end of the Mojacar promenade along to Macenas castle. We did not eat here, we only stopped for drinks/coffees on three occasions when out walking. Friendly staff, good service and good value with a nice sunny terrace on the beach so you can do your Shirley Valentine bit if you are that way inclined.
Great little place.. ‘traditional’ beach bar.. just like the ‘70’s. No frills, just great location, lovely fresh fish, excellent service, and doesn’t break the bank. Will be visiting again very very soon.
A must visit while you’re in mojacar or carboneras, they have fantastic paella, good service and beautiful views

Great beach bar and restaurant between an historic fort and a romantic tower. Walk or drive past the tower for an even prettier beach after lunch. The speciality is fish. Lots of squid and fried fish for starters and dishes like swordfish and whole turbot for the main course. Meat, rice dishes and salads also available. Deserts are home made. Choose a table inside or outside on a sheltered terrace.
Super friendly people, very nice affordable food. Beautiful location. Nice (easy) mountain hiking routes in both directions
We ate here three times during our recent holiday in Spain and would highly recommend it to anyone nearby just be aware they are only open during the day until seven. The food is very reasonably priced compared to elsewhere, portions are generous and all the fish was exceptionally fresh. Waiting staff were wonderfully attentive and always went out of their way to help if they could, recommending places to visit etc
