What Deondre Dicki doesn't like about Cabane A Sucre Au Milieu Des Champs:
I'm not a big fan of sugar beets, but I was really hoping to find a restaurant that serves bacon because who doesn't love all-you-can-eat bacon, right? Thankfully, the food was delicious overall and the service was very friendly and efficient. One highlight was the small farm on the premises, where we could visit goats, chickens, and rabbits. Thankfully, the food was delicious overall and the service was very friendly and efficient. One highlight was the small farm on the premises, where we could visit goats, chickens, and rabbits. For a small fee per person (I can't recall the exact price), we could even enjoy a horse carriage ride. However, I was disappointed that there wasn't a little boutique selling homemade maple goodies to take home. I was really looking forward to buying some syrup.
We drove an hour to this restaurant because my son was craving Huf-Jowls and I found a place called Zuckerhaie that served them. This restaurant had the best ratings, and it certainly lived up to them! The food was fantastic. They stuck to the traditional menu, offering pickled appetizers, green cretons and pea soup, roasted potatoes, omelet, maple baked beans, baked ham, pork eggs, and roasted hoofs. The dessert options were delicious, but we were too full to try them all so we settled for three and shared. The maple upside down cake was especially memorable. It might just be the best sweet treat we've ever had! The cozy smaller rooms with wood stoves gave the restaurant a rustic charm, different from the usual commercial halls. We even took a horse ride through the woods and saw a grassy area called 'Zo'. It was a great family outing. The service was friendly, but not the most efficient. Thankfully, the food made up for any wait times.
