Unfortunately we stayed on days when the restaurant was not open in the evenings but it was a lovely room and the menu looked great. We stayed there on our way out and back from the ferry at St Malo and it was a real gem of a find. A lovely family run place which exudes warmth of genuine hospialtity and even the dogs are welcoming. This will be our regular stop off for all of our French holidays from now on and in fu... Beautiful Haven with very friendly hosts and delicious homemade, local cuisine. A Must Try !! Delicious meat cuts grilled outdoors by the chef and brought directly to your table (see pictures). Perfect for families with children as the outdoor garden in front of the terrace is equipped with a swing set and a small kids house. The terrace is cosy overlooking a beautiful colourful garden. A definite surprise location wise, that I highly recommend whether it be for accommodation or simply enjoy a nice meal.
La Chesnaie made our celebration really special. Food was excellent, service brilliant . Would recommend this restaurant whole heartedly. Have already reserved a table for Sunday lunch in a couple of weeks. If you want to eat here make a reservation as it very popular and you wouldn't want to miss out.
We had seen the roof of this restaurant many times from the motorway and had heard that it was good. We went for lunch and arrived early because we had not booked, just as well because it quickly filled up. We had the set three course menu at €13.9, there were about six choices for starters and the same for the main course. It was excellent, the food was very good also the service charming. We shall return
Four of us ate here on a Saturday at dinner. This is a hard to find place but well worth the trouble! Located off of the intersection of two main highways, you have to look for it. Get off at the Miniac-Morvan exit on the St Malo to Rennes highway. You end up following signs on a little dirt road past farm country for 5 or so minutes. Open Sunday through Friday at lunch and Friday and Saturday nights. A nice surrounding with a four rooms to let. Nice little garden to eat weather permitting. Dining room has a hearty fireplace where much of the meat is cooked over a grill. A warm family atmosphere and excellent food and drink. Many locals can be found here! Recommended!
