Tavern on the rail. I've been eating at Tavern On The Rail for several years. I think this place is the best place in Virginia. The owners are very nice and moved land people. The food is the best and the oysters are the best I've ever eaten. For food, the price is not bad at all. A great place.

My wife and I were eating here when we moved to Louisa years ago. We loved it absolutely. Great environment, outdoor seating, historic rural environment, wide selection of drinks and the quality of food/food was something I would expect in a European top city. Our waitress was a local who was charming, friendly, attentive and prompt. We'll return with others.

A nice evening. The food was delicious. Do not expect super thick steaks as these hand cut here are perfectly cooked and delicious. Pages and drinks and service were wonderful. Atmosphere gives you a feeling of Virginia history with some original 1837 floors and other items in place. Registered in history registers and still felt clean and appealing. Come back. Good for special occasions as well as weekly food as cheap.

This is the first time I visited Tavern on the rail. What a wonderful place to eat with a ton of history on this building. The food was served fresh and hot and the price is more than fair for the serving pages. You have the whole racket downstairs I have to check. I had the special rib, the little cut. Holy cow! It was huge and delicious. You moderated items on the menu should want a little more mainline. Please give this restorer an attempt as they are absolutely wonderful!
