Cafe Rio Mexican Grill - Millcreek

Hard to imagine having a worse takeout experience: 1. Ordered via the app at 6pm for pickup at 7. 2. Arrived at 7. At 7:10 I’m told it will just be 5 more minutes because they ran out of grilled chicken. Don’t get my food until 7:25. 3. When my order is finally called it’s missing 2/6 items. 4. After getting the missing items and rushing home to try to salvage being able to have a late dinner with my kids before they go to bed, I’m disappointed to find that, as a cherry on top of my disastrous experience, the cook of my burrito decided that my “enchilada style” wasn’t deserving of cheese…just sauce. Cafe Rio’s decline in quality over the last decade is a heartbreak shared by all Utahns, but this experience really takes the cake…

I feel like this cafe Rio location has really improved!! I got the new pork bowl and it was soooo good. I added a few of the complimentary salsas and the flavor was so good. Juana checked that we had the correct order before we walked out with our order and she was so helpful! I always feel like the black beans aren’t as fresh as they could be but overall the food was great. Definitely an improvement on my previous experiences.

This is the worst cafe rio out there and I hate that I live near it. They constantly leave out orders, sauces, sides, etc it leaves my kids crying almost every time we try this location. I’ve left feedback for the manager on multiple occasions around the broken take out process, but they obviously don’t care. Cafe rio is usually awesome, but this location makes me never want to try it again. Kid friendliness: They screw up the orders every time, so be prepared for crying kids

Delicious Mexican food, with good service, due to the time we went to eat there were few people, but it is not expensive....

This location used to be great, I don’t know what’s happened in the last few months with the new people they hired, but nobody seems to care, or look like they enjoy life in any capacity. What happened?
