We had a delightful and cozy stay at this charming guesthouse. The beds were very comfortable, and the staff were friendly and helpful. It was the perfect place for a hiking holiday. We absolutely loved the stunning views and the close access to hiking trails, and we slept wonderfully well. The room was clean and tidy. We would definitely come back! View all feedback.
Old Mountain Gem. Cute place to stay with friendly staff and delicious food. The bedrooms were as expected, nothing glamorous, cozy, and had a beautiful view on the balcony overlooking the bay. I will definitely be staying again in the future. You cannot beat the location. There are hiking paths on all sides of the inn. The food and cocktails were also delicious.
An incredible place! Amazing views with absolutely fabulous food. The people were kind and went above and beyond. Chelsea saved my husband and I the best table on the patio for our dinner. I had the salmon and my husband had the ribeye. Both of us were very happy! Muchas gracias a todos
HOTEL NOT AS ADVERTISED! DON?T WASTE YOUR MONEY! First, we were drawn to the fact that the rooms had decks with views, but don?t let that fool you. When we entered the room there was an obviously placed table and chairs in front of the door to the terrace. Seemingly, they didn?t want us using it. And rightfully so. That deck has not seen a pressure washer or any sense of clean in YEARS. The ?large terrace with views of the bay and Mt. Tamalpais? was infested with spiderwebs and clearly neglected. And the view was subpar, but amplified by the fact that the deck wasn't usable. In summer. Other cons: Check-in is very confusing, neither of the nightstand lights worked, there were long strands of not-our black hair throughout the tub, there were no washcloths in the bathroom and then again no washcloths after we inquired at dinner, no ambiance in the restaurant: no music, nothing happy, just drab peeling wallpaper and sadness, breakfast was our choice of lukewarm gelatinous quiche or vegetarian lukewarm gelatinous quiche, asking for water seemed like a chore for the AM host ? we couldn?t get out of there fast enough. Positives: Stone, who was running the place when we arrived and during dinner, was an absolute delight! They do get the dinner part right, no complaints there. The bed was comfortable and we were appreciative of the provided fan in the room. The nearby hiking trails were a nice escape. Be advised: They charge a lot and provide very little.
We absolutely love this place! My now husband and I stumbled across this inn after hiking. We had lunch with a great view. 5 years later, we wanted to get married here? then Covid hit. 2 years after that we decided to spend our one year marriage anniversary here and it?s been fantastic! Beautiful view, clean, good food, great staff?. Just a great place to disconnect from the world and enjoy time with yourself or SO.
My wife and I booked the Mountain Home Inn for three nights in room three. We were excited to come to the mountain region after a few days in the Napa area to do some exercises to process the wine. We arrived later the day after a hike near the ocean and were warmly welcomed by the staff. We came to our room, and although we should probably do a little more research, we were a bit surprised by the size of the room; a little smaller than expected. The deck felt equal to the room size with a phenomenal view, so that all things consider that the room was enough. We had dinner in the first night and met another friendly couple who recently came back from a hike this day. The four of us enjoyed conversation in the smaller part of the dining room with the better view. The next morning we woke up to watch the sunset and stood on the same hike that our holiday friends had completed the day before. It was great to walk out of the Inn into an 8-mile walk with magnificent views of Muir Woods. Overall we enjoyed our time, but the Inn is better suited for individuals who like to stay at the hotel for relaxation. We felt a bit on the other guests with our balcony in the ear shot both the outdoor dining and most other guests. The food was good, not great, but the service was fantastic. We decided to cut our stay at night and go to Sausalito to shop, bars and dinner. The ride to the mountain was a little forbiding to go for dinner and drive back at night if you are not familiar with the area or speed that some riders take the curvy road. We would return to the Mountain Home Inn but would book a larger room for a shorter duration.
