Flying J Travel Center - Midway

Staff was great, but the location is in desperate need of a thorough cleaning and remodeling. The showers are nasty and need to be redone. Good parking.

Love that this Flying J has dedicated RV pump lanes with gas pumps on both sides! We also appreciate the RV parking...now,???? if we could just get cars to not park in them.

I stopped here because they have an RV dump, but unfortunately, it was out of service when I visited on December 22nd. I wish they had a sign to indicate this. Maneuvering my 37-foot RV plus a 12-foot trailer through parking lots is quite challenging! Just so you know, the RV dump at Pilot is also out of service. On the positive side, they do have RV fuel island pumps and a Denny's on-site.

The showers were probably the smallest I've ever seen. There were no hooks to hang our clothes, so water splashed everywhere and we ended up getting wet. The shower room was just too cramped. Additionally, the toilet paper dispensers were falling off the walls. Overall, it was not a pleasant shower experience and certainly didn’t meet the standards of most Pilot Flying J locations that we usually visit.

I often find myself criticizing truck stops for having old, broken squeegees sitting in dirty water. But wait... what’s this? Brand new quality squeegees in clean, soapy water at 3:45 A.M.? Am I still dreaming in my bunk? Thank you for this unexpected pleasure; we truly appreciate it!
