Double Happiness Chinese Resta

This restaurant still continues to have take-out only. And that's fine by me. The food is fresh, hot and delicious. This is probably the 12th time we have ordered a family takeout. We will continue in the future.

Since Covid closed indoor dining at Double Happiness, we have ordered and picked up many,many times various food menu items for dinner. We have had guests on every long weekend over the past 2 years, and Double Happiness is ALWAYS a must for at least one dinner. Every guest loves their food, as we do too. Our guests always say that we MUST ORDER from Double Happiness when they come up for the weekend visits. EXCELLENT flavour, service, prices, and it's the only place in Simcoe County that we would ever order and enjoy Chinese Food.

We've ordered numerous dishes to feed our family of 7, typically on long weekends throughout this Covid period. We usually pick up around 6pm. Ordering ahead...they are always on time with our order when we arrive to pick up. The dishes are all packed for easy transport. The food is all super delicious,and we always talk about the next time we will order. The cost,quality,taste are all excellent!

I called to place a simple order of pan fried noodles (plain Lo mein) and they told me they could not complete my order as they closed in 30 minutes. If they refuse to serve customers passed 7:30 maybe they should change their hours to let customers be aware of proper ordering hours. I understand that it was almost closing time, but with 30 minutes to spare In a covid time, I’m sure the owners would have appreciated the extra sale. What a shame.

Upon the recommendation of neighbours we ordered. Our order consisted of SS Chicken balls, Rice, Teriyaki Beef and Sesame Chicken and spring rolls. The Chicken balls, spring rolls and rice were what I expected. When we opened the sesame chicken it had sweet and sour sauce with a sprinkle of sesame seeds, I thought that there might have been a mistake so I called. Nope no mistake that is what they call Sesame Chicken and she proceeded to tell me a lot of people get confused when they order that. Maybe they should call it sweet and sour chicken bites, then there would be no confusion. The second disappointment was the teriyaki beef. Not an ounce of teriyaki flavour. The smell of whatever sauce they used turned me off so much I couldn't eat it. My poor husband got stuck with eating it. Can you say waste of $50. Let's just say there was no Double Happiness here.
