My husband and I would come here for special occasions as date night. Before COVID it was a wonderful experience. Since COVID, they are out of a lot of the things that I enjoyed eating while I was there, though that doesn't take away from the cool experience. View all feedback.
What Laura Hartley doesn't like about Genji Midland:
First time here. Pulling up to the restaurant I thought they were out of business. Weeds higher then my knees and a pond at the entrance that was not cared for all year. Grose. It really would not take much to clean up the landscaping, but I guess they don't care? The staff was friendly. The food is way over priced. After all its only rice, veggies and a little chicken, shrimp or steak. Taste is ok. I could do better... View all feedback.
This is a great place for special occasions and date night. Seating is large U shapes with the grill in the center. Larger parties will have their own grills while smaller parties might be seated together. We went at the beginning of January for my birthday, and due to staff shortages, they didn't have any appetizers or sushi. I was really looking forward to sushi and was disappointed when we were told after a 45 minute wait instead of when we called or first arrived. If that's important to you, ask before arrival. Their menu is very limited. They did do a great job of accommodating a food allergy and our waitress was phenomenal. You get a good portion of food and the cooks are fun to interact with. It's definitely fun for kids!
Genji, thank you for being so delicious!! I’m sad too see the “Genji” name go away. We love the homemade yum yum sauce, retro rolls and early bird dinners. We truly have celebrated so many milestones at this place! Homecomings, engagements, birthdays, new baby’s, you guys have been the place to go!My husband is in the Air Force and we have not yet found a place that matches quality and quantity from here to Albuquerque. Rumor has it, the yum yum sauce is staying the same and my family hope it does. If possible, you should share your yum yum recipe with the whole franchise when you transition ?
Lots of food, nice staff. I ordered my steak rare, it was more medium rare, but good. My wife thought her scallops were over done. The shrimp, fried rice and sushi were
The hibachi grill is the way to go here. The chefs are great at entertainment and make delicious food. The soups are good, the salad could be better though. Unfortunately when I was there last the fried rice was a bit overcooked but that has only happened to me once.

I guess you are paying for the entertainment of someone cooking in front of you?It was fun and we did enjoy the experience. But it's a once only visit type restaurant.
