Little hole in the wall spot with authentic Cuban coffee and great food options. We popped in here after arriving early for a work conference and are happy to have found this spot! View all feedback.
What Cynthia R doesn't like about Las Palmas Cafeteria:
The service and experience were terrible. I was never offered a drink after sitting for 20 minutes. The palomilla (thin sliced sirloin) was overcooked even though I asked for it medium, and the rice was undercooked. This restaurant must cater to tourists who are unfamiliar with authentic Cuban cuisine. View all feedback.
Mediocre Cuban sandwiches at best. Took over 4 minutes to get the sandwich which is ridiculous. Definitely would not recommend.
I ordered an empanada which was pre heated and soggy. I also had a guava and queso pastelito and it was served cold and mushy and we had to have it microwaved. We ate the pastelito but sent back the empanada after a bite each because it really wasn't edible. We tipped on the full bill just didn't like the food and felt our honest clear feedback should've been respected but for some reason wasn't.
Use to be good years ago but new owner and cook does not know the first thing about Cuban food. Bread was hard steak was cold beans were low on salt no taste . It’s a shame .

This is definitely a hole in the wall type place. Went for a late breakfast instead of the hotel where we were staying. The service was great and the food was good, but not great. The coffee was fantastic however. As far as Cuban spots downtown, I think this is a great option. I would definitely go again.Food: 4/5
