For our anniversary, my husband surprised me by taking me to this restaurant. The decoration is cozy, and the staff was very pleasant on our arrival as well as during the entire meal. We both ordered the smallest menu, because the others had just too much food for either of us. The meal was delicious, every bite a pleasure. The venison, cooked just right with red cabbage sauce and the dessert were simply divine. As for the price, you can't expect a meal with high quality products and great service without paying for it. The menu was quite expensive and way too much food. 70 euros for a menu with not many alternatives. Our beef was overcooked and the turbot had a really strange taste with all the things they added.
The pate de fois gras was superb. the veal was delicious. the little nutty goodie you get at the end of the mean in the shape of a heart...so good. add to it that the atmosphere is cosy without being stuffy and the owner extra friendly and this is a win win situation. the service is a bit slow by american standard but then the French like to take their time to enjoy a good dinner. so come with the french frame of mind. it is not that slow. just a little bit. Stuck between Champagne and Alsacian wines, Moselle wines have a tendency to be forgotten but try them, they are delicious. the value is good for the money too. it is a bit out of the historical center. we did not feel like driving and we had to take a taxi.
