Amazing place. The kind of place you can't wait to take your friends and family to. It's unreal that for like 30$ you can get so much food. The problem is, the staff seems to have a very sour attitude. To a point where the friends that showed me the place told me to prepare for it. I in turn told my bf. It's just something that happens. But the vibe of the place is really nice and the food is great. I notice it's bet... View all feedback.
What Rachel doesn't like about Akira Sushi Hibachi:
For $29 (with tax) all you can sushi place is decent. The rolls aren’t bad, but the sashimi was the price you’ll get. It’s not the greatest. The fish is very chewy and very hard to sallow. The only good sashimi was the salmon. The fat to flesh ratio is good. The beef teriyaki was good. This was a cheap and decent all you can eat. The miso soup was bland. View all feedback.
The parking lot is not very large and several rooms are only compact. So watch the parking lot. The staff helped us sit quickly and was nice. There were obvious language barriers, but that didn't bother me. There are only two genuine options sushi buffet (order in the table) and Hibachi. We did the sushi buffet. We also have lunch (16 per dish plus 18% is added to check / 35 dollar ticket for two with water). There are paper menus on which you can highlight your orders and laminated menus that help as keys to identify what in the individual roles you order. There are also nigiri (a cut of Sashimi on a bed of rice). I usually hang on my finger rolls and had a special role. I prefer to eat only the fish and rice without the drizzled sauce, so I would probably just get the nigiri next time. If you like nigiri, the price is great for what you get because you can add soup, salad, ice cream and/or pasta entre products. The area was spacious and had a fish tank and beautiful aesthetics. The fish was fresh, and I even saw that they wore 2 uncut fish fillets that should be filled to pieces placed in the sushi refrigerator at the bar. I'd say the bathroom needs a love. Some spray has to go in there or something. Both the male and female sides fell badly and could be advised from outside the door. The look of the toilet was not bad (same color tile on floor and wall and clean). This sushi buffet was a beautiful change from the way I usually experience sushi. You cannot starve (or it is your fault), and quality does not suffer significantly because of the price. Come hungry and try the nigger.
This is a hidden gem ! Great prices and delicious sushi. They have an all you can eat menu for lunch and dinner in addition to a regular menu. Staff is friendly and attentive. Parking is a struggle.
I would say the rolls was pretty good! The noodles very very salty. But honestly be careful because they charged you 25(dinner) instead 15(lunch) at 2 pm, I asked but they said “no lunch” maybe because was Mother’s Day. Other thing the waitress very rude, no patience at all. Looks pretty dirty too. No too much option for vegetarians.
Update: We have been longtime fans of this place, but it's time to start going somewhere else. I hate to reduce my rating, but the service and food quality has really tanked in our last few visits, and we're going to start patronizing other sushi places that are closer to us. It just doesn't make sense for us to drive 25 minutes to get slow, indifferent service, and be served completely burnt meat when we live less than 10 minutes from multiple elegant, high quality Japanese restaurants with competitive prices, and fast and friendly service. Old review: My boyfriend and I have come here probably 20+ times in the last two years. It’s such a blast for us. The all you can eat is affordable yet of such quality and abundance that we really don’t understand how this restaurant is making ends meet. But we keep coming! We love to get the sushi, the sashimi, and little sides like the hibachi scallops, miso soup, and gyozas. There is so much to choose from and it’s so laid back. I love that you fill out what you want on the menus, and even after your first course, you can get fresh menus and order again … and again. It really is all you can eat so don’t be afraid to try things! Everything except the sushi rolls comes in small portions. Although, go slow or you may accidentally order more than you can eat. Don’t worry, there’s no rush The food always comes out quite fast. Every now and then they accidentally bring you the wrong dishes so just keep an eye out and let them know! It’s not a big deal when you’re not paying based on the quantity of food you get. And the ice cream is so delicious and creamy! It’s some of the best ice cream I’ve had. I usually get the green tea and the chocolate. And about the sushi I have always felt it is fresh and tasty. I think only one time did it taste less than optimal. But I’ve always enjoyed it and never gotten sick from it.
I was not impressed with this place at all. I don't want to give it 1 star, but it is two star worthy at best. My son wanted to go here for his 18th birthday as he and school friends frequent here. Now, I see why. It is high school kid worthy at best. It's nothing more than an average buffet disguised as a more upscale restaurant. As there were 5 of us, I was surprised that we were seated right away. However, $150 for buffet style sushi and seasoned rice called hibachi rice just doesn't cut it. THEN, we had been there an hour as we were talking and celebrating a birthday. They hovered around our table after an hour in and made us very uncomfortable so we left. One more thing. One of the waitresses dumped a drink over all over the table and on to my wife's purse. They DID bring her a $20 gift card as a result, but my son now has it to go eat with buddies as my wife and I will not be returning.
