The Le Safran restaurant opens around the clock near the tram station Gulhane and over the road to the next gate to the Topkapi Palace and the Istanbul Archaeological Museums from the tram stop. There are four hotels on the way between Antik Cafe and Le Safran and I were in two Hotel Basilissis (see other review) and now Antik Houses. The other two in the pedestrian zone are Print House Hotel and Minel Hotel. All are easiest to reach in the same way as the only other entry into the roadway a large circle around and stairs down to the roadway. This is a big trouble if you have luggage. The Basilissis Hotel is the best of the two I tried with 24 hours concierges, an excellent breakfast and an elevator. The Antik Hotel has none of these and is a bit cheaper for those who travel on a budget. The restaurant Le Safaran is located at the entrance of the road, so that the food is always nearby. The menu is simple but sufficient and the service was very friendly and helpful. The owner loves his cats that are always on the scene to contradict more than customers, so if you like cats it sky as they are friendly and want to know better whether you want to share a bit of food or not. They are all well fed twice a day. I watched a couple sit down for breakfast and was horrified that a cat came near her table. They stood up and went even though they had already placed their order. If you are a cat phobia Istanbul will be a nightmare for you, like most of Turkey.

Very good reception. the place is clean and well kept. The sandwiches are good and well served. The plates are well trimmed.

Very good kebab generous service and quality several choices of meat possible. The boss and his wife are very friendly.
